Websites from the project and Videos

Hey everyone, I am currently working on my videos but I found some interesting websites with alot of useful information,
This website really helped me find alot of my numbers it is American Factfinder, if you spend some time looking around I am sure it can help your projects as well. Here is The American Foundation for the Blind Living with Blindness. The National Association of the Deaf http://www.nad.org/. And for everyone doing a project for birth defects here is the website for the March of Dimes marchofdimes.com. And I hope everyone can remember the diseases I listed, here is the website for the ones that can cause blindness, *some pictures can be very graphic* eyedefectsresearch.org.

And here are some videos I found of people over coming their disabilities and rocking in sports, this is BeeperBall or baseball for the blind. And fencing a very competitive and difficult sport to master here are some champs doing it better then some other pros in the Olympics, Fencing.

Well I hope everyone has an amazing Thanksgiving and be well.

Introduction!

To my fellow students and Professor Haines,

My blog will be about living as a person with a disability, but not just one. I plan on living about four hours a day with a specific physical disability. Week 1, will be blindness, Week 2 will be deafness and, finally Week 3 I will be in a wheelchair. I would like to stress that in no way am I making fun of or degrading any persons with such disabilities. I find that reading about and even working with people with disabilities can only take your learning experience so far. I know that I will never truly and fully understand what it is like to live with these disabilities, but I hope to gain a better understanding and try to see the world as they would. I won't be posting all four hours just 20 or 30 mins of video and my reactions after each day. Please bear with me because I am not technologically savvy and it might take me a bit to load the videos. I am looking forward to sharing my experiences and hope we can all learn a little more. Thank you, be well and stay tuned.
